Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights (“CANKHR”) is the internationally recognized Korean organization focused on North Korean human rights issues. Established in 1996, Citizens’ Alliance pioneered in bringing North Korean human rights issues into global focus. Citizens’ Alliance is a key player in the selection process and the pre-departure orientation program of KASM’s WLP. The organization also conducts a four-month post-WLP program. Additionally, Citizens’ Alliance provides generous financial support for the WLP.
Open Society Foundations also provides financial support to WLP and hosts the program’s participants for a thought-provoking discussion session in New York City.
Sejong Society of Washington, DC is a non-profit, volunteer organization with the objective of inspiring next generation of Korea and Northeast Asia specialists. KASM has collaborated with Sejong Society to deliver public events with the WLP participants.
Korean American Community Foundation endeavors to develop communities through grant making and capacity-building assistance. KASM collaborates with the Foundation’s Steering Committee, which consists of Korean-American young professionals.
